Review Rubric
Here at businesscard-reviews.com, we strive to publish objective reviews of online printing companies. We scrutinize each printing company we review so that small businesses and individuals have a non-biased resource for their online needs.
We believe that online business should make our lives easier, not harder. We hold the companies we review to a high standard. Our scoring rubric is outlined below.
The Business Card
- Paper - we like a firm and smooth heavyweight cardstock. Flimsy cards fail to impress
- Color - we want the colors we designed, not whatever ink the printing company has lying around. We also want the color to pop.
- Quantity - an individual may only need 500 business cards, but a large corporation may need to order over 10,000 cards at a time.
- Price - an online business card printing company should deliver its product at a reasonable rate and not falsify its seemingly low rates by charging excessive shipping and handling fees.
- Overall impression - the final look of a card is perhaps the most important part of the whole process of designing, ordering, and distributing your business card. We want to make sure that the final card conveys a positive impression about you and your business.
The Web Experience
- Safety - any online business should provide all the the necessary safeguards to prevent identity theft and fraudulent use of your credit card number. We make sure that the sites use reputable security technologies.
- Updates - some of us are born with impulsive personalities. We want to be informed about our printing process. We expect notification, or at the very least a webpage to check the progress of our order at the following decisive stages:
- Approved design
- In print
- Shipped
- Overall Impression - the overall web experience is important to us. We do not expect bells-and-whistles, but the layout of the website should be efficient. Most importantly, we require that our form information is saved - just in case we accidentally click the back button in the browser.
There you have it - our current review rubric. We will apply this thorough review process to every company that we review. Because of the lengthy process, you can expect monthly updates on our reviews.
